E Bike Solutions are TRP products specially developed for e-bike use. The E-Bike toughness results from: 1. Bigger dimensions to increase durability and strength 2. Special developed materials to optimize heat management 3. The complete package of all single parts to elevate the overall performance for demanding E-Bike use.

MORE BIKE – MORE BRAKE

Do trucks have the same brakes as cars? TRP believes riders on bikes, with an additional engine and battery need a stronger brake. TRP E Bike Solutions products are specifically developed for heavier E-Bikes. Brakes which match the E-Bike, guaranty rider safety. More braking power, more stability and stiffness, more heat resilience – more bike – more brake.

CLEAN COCKPIT
For Cargo, E-MTB and TREKKING

System-integration on any bikes handlebar cockpit has become a challenge: Shifter, dropper-post, light-switch, horn, engine-control and navigation. Many important control systems need to be stored within little space.
In addition, the clean design factor has been pushed by road bikes, which have a 100% cable free look today. The new Clean-Cockpit TRP lever design brings clean handlebar design and system integration to the next level.

WHY E BIKE SOLUTIONS ?

All E-Bikes, whether E-City, E-Trekking or E-MTB, you are traveling at higher speeds and with a higher total weight. In extreme cases, like E-Cargo S-Pedelec bikes – the maximum weight can go up to 200 kg at 45 km/h!

E Bike Solution facts:

01 More weight more mass – E- MTB bikes weigh up to 70% more than standard bikes. The engine makes accelerating to 25km/h on the flat fairly easy – a standard bike averages 15 km/h in the flat. The overall more weight at more speed create more mass, that needs to be decelerated. The overall weight of E- Cargo bikes can go up to 200 kg.

02 Bigger wheels – 29 inch – Bigger wheels role faster and have better brake traction. The bigger contact surface on the ground, increases the traction and forces when braking.

03 More heat – Whether stop-and-go in the city with kinds and groceries or long alpine downhills, bike and rider develop more mass which needs to be stopped – this creates much more heat for the brake system to manage.

04 More riding time – Bigger batteries extent riding times and overall mileage – This increases the wear on parts, especially under wet and cold weather conditions. Parts for standard bikes have not been designed for those applications.

05 More speed – S-Pedelecs (45km/h) – The new category of S-Pedelecs takes E-Bikes to a new speed level. Standard E-Bikes are supported up to 25km/h – S-Pedelec are supported up to 45 km/h. These bikes already fall under the vehicle category, needing insurance license plates, with brake lights, horn and lights. Like a small moped. More speed on heavier bikes need secure and reliable brakes.

06 Many different types of bikes– E-Mobility has pushed the Bike industry to design many different types of E-Bikes beyond the standard cycling use. Especially transporting, kids, business items or mail delivery has accelerated new bike design. Special types of vehicles need specific solutions and more than a standard brake.

07 Different types and style of riders– E-Bikes today are ridden by riders from age 6 to 86 years. Many of the riders come back to cycling after 10 years off the bike, to rediscover the fun of E-bikes. E-Bike riders are not the typical sportive, experienced cyclist – their focus is mobility – getting safe from A to B. Often they become explorers, finding themselves in critical situations.

08 Cycling becomes E-Mobility– Cars in cities is todays pain-point to solve. E-Bikes have become one of the key answers to this space and environment pain. In this rapidly changing world, the E-Mobility trend has become mainstream in no time. For over 20 years, Tektro I TRP have been developing special brake solutions for special bikes. This Tektro I TRP experience will be a driving factor to support the success of E-Mobility in the future.

E BIKE SOLUTION Brakes

TEKTRO Since 1986…

How we test

Each Tektro brakes goes through a very rigorous testing process before it is shipped to a customer – every single brake.

  • 100% quality test – for each hydraulic disc brake Tektro produces
  • Tektro has a special Test team of 28 people and 300 Test machines
  • All Testing machines are designed and specifically built for Tektro needs
  • The oil pressure of each brake is tested for 8:45 min – the lever is pulled 250 times under a certain load during this time
  • The testing capacity for the quality test is close to 10,000 brakes per day

TEKTRO is a 33-year-old family business based in Taiwan. Today, all major bicycle brands use TEKTRO brakes on their entry-level bikes. They value Tektros reliability and quality production know-how. Things changed in 2006, when Tektro launched the high end brand TRP.

In 1986, three friends Gary Chen, Leo Chen and Aver Tsai founded TEKTRO with 20 employees in Changhua, Taiwan. The first factory was about the size of a basketball court. The monthly production capacity was at 50,000 sets of cantilever brakes. Their business values drove their success: work dependably, design creatively, manage efficiently and keep production at the highest quality.

1999 TEKTRO launched it’s first hydraulic disc brake, which still is the company‘s most successful and important product. Today, TEKTRO has production facilities in Taiwan and China with over 1,600 employees and provides sales and service in Taiwan, China, Europe and USA.

TRP stands for TEKTRO Racing Product. TRP stepped into smaller categories, has created multiple product success stories and numerous race wins, including time trial, cyclo-cross and downhill.
